My wife and I have only been in the Dallas area for a relatively short time. Some of the long-term residents had told us about “The Mall” – specifically the Galleria Dallas was a place to see. So we headed out on a day trip to the mall to check it out and get some lunch. As you can see it is a very nice, upscale mall.
The food court was not abundant in choices but we found that there was food on every level in the form of restaurants or fast food. We ate at Charley’s and it was really good. As we walked around – all of the places here looked good. We plan on going back for more food as our appetites weren’t big enough for one visit.
This was a very clean and well designed mall. The one thing I noticed was a lot of available seating to just sit for awhile if you wanted. There are also specific seating with power for recharging your electronic devices.
Probably the most notable feature of the Galleria was the ice skating rink located on the rink (or bottom) level. We are a little past the skating activity for ourselves but there were plenty of kids out having a good time. The rink is surrounded by restaurants so you can eat and watch the skating if you wish.
One of the other notable features was the Westin Hotel that towers above the mall.
The Westin has its own private entrance to the mall. And of course, more food places. We could not resist getting some Rocky Mountain Chocolate to take home.
The Galleria is set in the shadow of several tall buildings. This is from the rooftop of one of the parking garages. The garages are color coded to help you find your way back.
We had a very pleasant day strolling through the shops. The food alone was well worth the visit. We highly recommend a visit when in the area.
