We found this hidden gem while traveling up I-35 in Oklahoma. Although there were many billboard signs that promote the park along the freeway so it wasn’t too hidden. It is approximately half way between Dallas and Oklahoma City.
While traveling the road down to the park you come across this gift store which also sells tickets to the zipline that spans across the park.
The zipline pulls you out across the park and you glide back in. If you are brave enough (not me) for this adventure it offers some great views of the falls and this beautiful area.
Just a gorgeous view to take in.
My kind of brave was taking pictures of the falls from the Turner Falls Overlook just below the gift store.
And the views of the falls from the Overlook were spectacular. This part of the country is relatively flat and featureless so this park offers some wonderful nature to gander at and play in.
Another gem to this park is this Rock Castle to hike around and venture through.
This monument is a reminder of how this road was built and when. I thought it was interesting.
Once you make the drive down the road you will find the entrance to the park.
Once in the park you find even more features to enjoy. For time reasons we did not pay to enter the park although we were able to drive quickly through. It definitely looks like a great place to send the day.
This is the main falls pool. We are not much into swimming nowadays but this looks fun.
This just has the makings of a great place to relax, enjoy nature, and play. Once we get our RV we will definitely plan on coming back to camp. The pictures speak for themselves as to how much fun it is.
