We ran across this Welcome Center and WWII Memorial returning from a trip to Oklahoma on December 4, 2015. This is one of the more elaborate welcome centers that we have run across in our travels.
The interior was a warm inviting room filled with literature from seven different regions of Texas. There were hundreds of free leaflets and brochures covering all ranges of places to see and things to do in Texas. My wife just loaded up my arms with several of them.
However our main interest was to document the WWII Memorial located just outside of the center. One of our travel goals is to try to document these memorials wherever we find them. It is always a reminder of those that gave their lives for our country and way of life.
