Quite some time ago (about 20 years or so) I drove up to San Francisco to get a photo with Muhammad Ali. I brought my kids with me so that they would have the opportunity to meet this man that I admired.
He was not in great health even back then. I remember how gracious he was to each and every person in line to get their picture with the man they call “The Greatest”. He made each person feel as if they were the important one in the room. He shook my hand and picked up my young son for the picture.
My favorite memory was after we were done with the photo, my son was so enamored with Ali that he ran back to him. Ali welcomed into his arms for one last hug before we left and others got their turn.
It was a wonderful memory for me and my family. RIP Ali – the world will miss you.
