Margaret Hunt Hill, Commerce St, & Railroad Bridges as seen from Reunion Tower

My wife and I went down to the Trinity River in downtown Dallas to visit this magnificent bridge on December 5, 2015. What we found was actually 2 bridges that parallel each other. One is the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge which is exquisite and can be seen for miles in many directions. The second bridge is the Continental Bridge which is just north (far side in picture) of the MHH bridge. Also in the picture are a railroad bridge and the Commerce Street Bridge (left most bridge).

The bridges are all part of the Trinity River Project which is creating an urban park along the Trinity River as well as flood control devices. The Trinity Skyline Trails run all along the river for walking.

After finishing the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge the Continental Bridge was transformed into a recreational area with benches, lights, and landscaping. It is a great place to take a walk or sit and read a book while enjoying the view of the Dallas Skyline. There were a few families that bring their kids out here. There is a small playground near the center of the bridge.

From the viewpoint of the Continental Bridge you can see the Margaret McDermott Bridge under construction in the distance. This view is from the Reunion Tower.

This was a really nice place to visit when the weather cooperates. It can also be a great vantage point if you want to watch the river flood during the heavy rainy periods. It is a nice outdoor area near the busy downtown area.
